When asked the greatest lesson he has learned in his professional career, Bush answered: “Having ambition and being passionate about what you do isn’t always enough. Throughout his education, Bush participated in and won several culinary competitions, both individually and as part of a team. Eager to learn more about the industry, Bush attended the Midwest Culinary Institute where he earned an associate degree before continuing his education at The Ohio State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in hospitality. As a kid, he loved being in the kitchen, and in high school, he was known as “the Chef” because of his love of cooking for family, friends and even for school events. He joined the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) team in 2013 and worked at both Cap City Grandview and Cap City Gahanna before being tapped to help open Del Mar SoCal Kitchen and Lincoln Social Rooftop in March 2019.īorn and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bush has always been a creative person. In his new role, Bowlby hopes to achieve a better understanding of how a restaurant runs, as well as creating better relationships with the people he works with. His favorite CMR dish is the Steak Frites from The Avenue Steak Tavern, but he likes to substitute the French fries for loaded hashbrowns. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, fishing & working on cars.
